Larkin & Lacey Speak Against Intolerance and Impunity

when the courts in Arizona found Joe Arpaio guilty of abuse of his office and powers in arresting the two journalists of the Phoenix Times, lines were drawn between the forces of impunity and progressive ones. One would have thought that it would be a turning point for those who harbored similar thoughts as Joe, to reflect and change their perspectives on life and of other people.

Life is never a straight line though; not even for issues that appear to be straightforward. Mr. Joe Apaio was convicted of contempt of court in July 2007. A lot of people thought that that was the end of impunity and of the career Sheriff of Maricopa. Well, President Trump had other ideas. He just overturned that ruling by granting pardon to Mr. Joe Arpaio.

Validating the Pardon

Joe Arpaio’s conviction by an Arizona court was not to happen; thanks to President Donald Trump. District Judge Susan Bolton validated the president’s pardon for Mr. Arpaio.

Of course, the move leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of the residents of Arizona, especially those that had been subjected to the many inhuman and lawless action by Joe and his gangs in the name of law enforcement.

Larkin and Lacey could not help but make their voice heard about the new development. In part, the journalists blame the system. According to Lacey, it is even sad that the story is about disobeying a court order when the man should be answering more serious charges of murder, torture, and abuse of his office.

Joe Arpaio’s Sins Keep Smouldering In Arizona People’s Hearts

The Arpaio Saga has been long running. Ten years earlier, Joe had a run in with the owners of the Phoenix Times Newspaper which covered all the evils it could observe under his leadership as the Sheriff.

Then Joe had sought to mete vengeance at the two journalists but he soon burnt his fingers in, arguably was he would never recover from. Joe had served Maricopa County for close to 25 years.

According to Lacey, the views by Rex Tillerson regarding Donald Trump were accurate. He says that Donald Trump proved to the world that he is indeed a moron.

Michael Lacy on his part highlighted some of the extreme acts of lawlessness that Joe and his gang adopted. Joe is even reported to have set up a tent that he proudly referred to as his “concentration camp’’ Such was his distasteful ways when he was in charge of the Maricopa police.
